Delete your Leestly account

Last updated: 2 September 2026

This page explains how to delete your account and all associated data from Leestly (the app for clients) and Leestly Pro (the app for cleaners). Both apps are published by Nextorn Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16923783), which is the data controller for your account.

You can delete your account yourself inside either app. If you cannot sign in, you can ask us to delete it by email. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Delete your account in the app

Leestly (clients) — iOS and Android

  1. Open the Leestly app and sign in.
  2. Open the Profile tab.
  3. Tap your name at the top of the screen to open Account.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  5. Under Choose where to send the code, pick Email or Phone. We send a 6-digit confirmation code to that address or number; it is valid for 10 minutes.
  6. Enter the code, tap Delete account, and confirm Delete account? in the dialog.

Leestly Pro (cleaners) — iOS and Android

  1. Open the Leestly Pro app and sign in.
  2. Open the Profile tab.
  3. Tap your name at the top of the screen to open Profile Settings.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  5. Choose Email or Phone to receive a 6-digit confirmation code, valid for 10 minutes.
  6. Enter the code, tap Delete Account, and confirm.

The account is deleted the moment you confirm the code. You are signed out on every device, and your sign-in stops working immediately.

Two things that stop a deletion

  • An active booking. If you have a cleaning that is being matched, confirmed or under way, the app asks you to cancel or complete it first, then delete.
  • Money we still owe a cleaner. If you are a cleaner with earnings that have not been paid out yet, the app asks you to contact support so the payout can reach you before the account closes. We never quietly keep money on deletion.

Request deletion without the app

If you have lost access to the app, or your account has no verified email or phone number to send a code to, email support@leestly.com from the email address registered on the account, with the subject Delete my account. Tell us which app the account belongs to — Leestly or Leestly Pro.

We reply within 1 business day and complete the deletion within 30 days of confirming that the request came from the account holder, as UK GDPR requires. We may ask one question to verify it is your account before we delete it — we will never ask for your password.

For anything else about your account, see Support. Please send deletion requests by email rather than through the contact form, so that your request is recorded against your registered address.

What is deleted, what is kept, and for how long

Deleted straight away

The following are erased or destroyed as soon as the deletion is confirmed:

  • Your name, email address, phone number and date of birth.
  • Your profile photo and every photo you uploaded — chat photos and voice messages, a cleaner's identity documents and verification selfie, and photos attached to a damage report. These are destroyed at our media host, not just unlinked.
  • Your saved addresses, including access instructions and door codes.
  • Your saved payment methods and your customer record at Stripe, our payment processor. We never held your full card number.
  • Push-notification tokens and all your in-app notifications.
  • Your Google and Apple sign-in links, so neither can be used to sign back in.
  • Every signed-in session on every device, plus any tokens that connected your account to a third-party AI assistant.
  • Security records tied to your identity: last sign-in time, IP address and device details.
  • Unused sign-in codes and referral records.

Kept, but no longer linked to you

Some records cannot simply be dropped without destroying somebody else's history or a financial record we are required to keep. These stay, with your identity removed — your name is replaced by "Deleted User" and nothing in them points back to you:

  • Bookings, payments, refunds and payouts. Kept as accounting records.
  • Reviews you wrote. The text stays, the author becomes "Deleted User".
  • Chat messages. The text stays so the other person keeps the context of a job they worked, with you shown as a deleted user. Open conversations with our support team are closed.
  • Bonus, referral and partner ledger entries. Kept for accounting reconciliation.
  • Reports you filed about someone else. Your identity is removed; the report itself stays, so that a case against another person is not erased by the reporter leaving. Anything you wrote or posted that was reported is deleted.
  • One audit entry recording that the account was deleted, and when.

How long

  • Immediately. Your personal data is erased or anonymised the moment you confirm the deletion — there is no waiting period and no way to recover the account afterwards.
  • Up to 30 days. Copies inside encrypted backups and system logs are overwritten as those rotate, within 30 days.
  • Up to 6 years. The anonymised financial records — bookings, payments, refunds and payouts — are kept for as long as UK tax and payment-services rules require, which is up to six years after the transaction. They no longer identify you.

Deleting your account does not cancel anything outside the app. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, cancel the subscription in the App Store or Google Play as well.
